Toei Confirms Dragon Ball Kai is
Edited to Follow Manga

Toei Animation has confirmed that this spring’s Dragon Ball Kai re-airing of its Dragon Ball Z anime will be edited to more closely follow Akira Toriyama’s original manga. The Dragon Ball Z anime series originally ran from April 1989 to January 1996 in Japan. However, since Toriyama was still serializing his manga at the same time in shorter weekly installments, the Dragon Ball Z anime expanded its story by inserting additional content. The new Dragon Ball Kai remastering will be an “Akira Toriyama original cut edition” that will quicken the story presentation and adhere more with the manga’s story.
The anime footage will be enhanced with the latest digital technology. This includes a new full-HD remastering from the film reels of the original run, renewed soundtracks and sound effects, and new dialogue recordings with most of the original cast. The re-airing will launch in Japan on April 5.
There will be an on-stage event, “CoFesta Presents The World of Dragon Ball Strikes Back!” at the Tokyo International Anime Fair at the Tokyo Big Sight convention center on March 20. The guests will include the original voice of the main characters Son Goku and Gohan, Masako Nozawa. The event will also reveal the new opening theme song and its as-yet-unannounced singer.
James Wong and 20th Century Fox’s live-action film adaptation will open in Japan on March 13, and will then open in America on April 8. Viz Media published the original manga, while Funimation had commissioned a remastering of the Dragon Ball Z anime series for its recent DVD box set releases.

I love Dragonball(z)(gt) and have seen the new special, it’s really good. But to be honest, I really think that another series would be wonderful, even just a manga copy. Because to be fair, it is what everyone wants, people trying to recreate stuff such as DBAF will just ruin the series because nothing could come close to what Akira has done. Another series would be amazing, I understand if it doesn’t happen but hey, I’ll always be on the edge of my seat wanting more Goku and friends – Amazing anime, amazing special – Amazing ordeals are sure to come, I hope so anyway.

I have been watching the dragonball series since before I could walk. When I was in grade 7, the series was done. I am 17 now and this is the best news I have heard in a long time. When the series ended, I felt like a part of me died. It was the only show that followed me as I grew up. It was like losing a brother or something. Enough of this foolishness though. Long live DragonballZ!

Dragonball Z is dead, give it up. There comes a time where everything must end.
Ever since Dragonball GT ended the entire series has spawned nothing but movies with little relevance to the story. Basically, each and every movie after the series ended were made to “feed” the fans. Give it up people, the series was over a long time ago.
Dragonball GT was made without using the guide of a manga and that is the essential part of an Anime. Manga’s arn’t made AFTER an Anime, they are made BEFORE an Anime. Please try to understand and quit asking. Because of you fans, people spawned rip off versions of the once proud series. I’m sure you heard of the Dragonball movie Hollywood is releasing.
Quit it, just stop it. Be thankful they’re still making games and other crap that is all too repetitive. The series is done, it’s over.
Now to be a little more On-topic, the new OVA is shit. It sucks because “Tarble” who is Vegeta’s brother has no reference in ANY OTHER EPISODE/SERIES OR MOVIE. I honestly yelled at the screen for a good 5 minutes. I mean honestly who the hell is this Tarble guy? I quickly assumed he would die at the end of the show but no, he didn’t! I can only hope they’ll make another video of him dying. If not, this OVA should not even exist. It’s insane.
Just drop it.
